Facing ACNE!!

Acne can be such a buggar! It can be so frustrating to try and fail several different acne products that promise RESULTS. Well let me tell you...there are so many factors to consider when treating acne.
Acne is a skin disease that is driven by a variety of factors, mainly inflammation and a damaged skin barrier, hormonal effects on sebaceous glands, as well as surface microbes and yeast. These triggers lead to breakouts that can include whiteheads, blackheads, small red bumps or hard cystic blemishes occurring on both the face and body. Often, women struggle with adult acne (sometimes referred to as “problem skin”) well into their 30s and 40s. Unfortunately, most “acne” products on the market are targeted toward teenagers with more oily skin, which dries out adult skin – triggering barrier damage and inflammation in the skin.
I think we need to camp out here for a mintue. In regards to different factors that can trigger acne breakouts, one of the most common I see in practice is a frustrated patient that is 'taking skin, hair and nail supplements' and using stridex pads and now acne is worse! UGH!! OR a middle aged woman spending HUNDREDS on 'quality' OTC products. YOU GUYS!!! You are not alone!!! You don't have to fight your acne battle alone!
One reason I love and support Epionce products is because of their foundation in treating the skin barrier. If we are using OTC products that are stripping away our natural protectant oils and bacteria and causing excessive dryness, it's not surprising that a breakout occurs. Epionce core technologies work synergistically to address the factors that lead to acne and preventing breakouts. Acne is well known to be an inflammatory disease, and Anti-Inflammatory Technology addresses that by blocking the formation and activation of inflammatory factors. Keratolytic Technology unclogs pores and helps control excess oil production. Barrier Repair Technology strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier for optimal skin function and health.
OK...you might be asking...'now what?' Well what I would like is for you to identify your triggers; dairy products, hormones, skin products, and/or nutrient depletion. Just to name a few. Then I want you to get back to basics and focus on your gut health, water intake, supplements known to benefit skin health (ie zinc) and a solid skincare regimen.
A nutritious diet has overall health benefit – and is important for skin health too. Eating foods rich in anti-inflammatory properties can aid in the prevention of acne breakout. Reducing aggravating foods like sugar, caffeine, alcohol, or milk or white chocolate, and spicy foods will help reduce number and severity of breakouts.
Your skincare regimen will differ from your friends because you are UNIQUE and not all skin is created equally! Some common products are purifying wash and lytic cleanser.
